Checkmate!
Six of our students represented our school this week in a district-wide chess tournament. They all had a lot of fun and did very well. We are also very proud of Abraham and Javier for taking home the Second Place prize for the 9 year old category and the Third Place prize for the 10 year old category.
Fighting Against the Flu
Instead of spreading the flu, our kindergarteners are spreading the word of the importance of mouth cover to fight against the influenza viruses.
Out to the Library
Our kindergartners were treated to a trip downtown this week to be introduced to the library. We were pleased to be taken on a tour of the building, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary. The children learned about the catalog system, saw a huge book written completely by hand, and had much fun exploring the world of books.
America Rediscovered!
The children celebrated the discovery of America on its anniversary by creatively reinacting the event and dressing in many beautiful costumes to represent the various countries of America.
Teaching Values to Our Children
We had a workshop this week where our teachers and parents combined efforts to learn how to teach crucial values to our children.
¡Viva México!
Today we celebrate our nation’s Independence Day remembering all the heroes that allow us to live in a free nation. The children always have a great time dressing up and participating in performances for the school in honor of this special day.
Shot Put Tournament
We hosted our own Shot Put Tournament this week where the children competed to see who could throw a heavy ball the farthest.
